The Italian National Commission of UNESCO presented the Report "Education and Enterprise" to the CNEL on Monday 26 October during the webinar "The role of education for social and economic revival".
It shows that it is essential to ensure quality, lifelong and inclusive education. As established by Objective 4 of the United Nations Agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development, it is a need of the international community that can no longer be postponed.
For our country, attention to the educational system is particularly urgent not only because of the persistence of a significant gap with the more advanced countries, but also because of the need to guarantee better opportunities for young people to enter the world of work, a reduction of inequalities and a relaunch of economic growth.
it is necessary to invest more in the school system and its autonomy, redesigning the overall picture of schooling and education cycles so that compulsory schooling coincides with the achievement of a degree. The architecture of study programmes must also be consistent with the country's objectives, enhancing the role of higher technical education and addressing the problem of university orientation and its connection with the business world.
